The Board of Trustees of Washoe County Library System approved an adjustment to the hours of operation for seven Washoe County Library locations.

The approved schedule is based on the needs of the unique communities served by each location and reflects an effort to provide programs that are the most impactful, offer more hours beyond the traditional work week to ensure access, and take into account the different levels of service required of each individual branch. Personnel costs associated with the new schedule will remain the same.

While this schedule decreases the overall operating hours of the entire system, it allows for continued refinement of hours based on use of library services. Patrons will continue to find multiple locations open every day of the week including weekends, with five branches offering hours on Saturdays and four on Sundays.

Beyond physical locations, Washoe County Library also maintains a robust digital collection, giving patrons 24-hour access to ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, research, language learning, software tutorials, reading suggestions, and more. Beginning Feb. 23, the new hours for the Incline Village Library will be as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday.
