TRUCKEE

Following the community’s overwhelming approval of Measure G by 72.6%, the new Truckee Regional Library continues to advance with a $500,000 grant from the Martis Camp Foundation to the Friends of the Truckee Library. This significant philanthropic investment celebrates the community’s decisive vote and reinforces a shared commitment to a modern regional library that will serve people of all ages, backgrounds, and life stages across the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe region.

Built nearly 50 years ago for a town of just 2,000 residents, the current Truckee Library no longer meets the needs of today’s community. The new Truckee Regional Library reflects what voters supported through Measure G: a welcoming and accessible public space designed to support learning, connection, and resiliency in a growing and diverse region.

The Martis Camp Foundation’s grant is intended not only to strengthen the new Truckee Regional Library, but also to encourage additional philanthropic investment. As a long standing supporter of the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe community, the foundation hopes this contribution will inspire other foundations, organizations, and partners to join in supporting a project with such broad and lasting impact.
