Placer and Nevada counties remind voters that the voting period for the Nov. 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election has officially begun. Ballots will be mailed by Monday, Oct. 6.

Voters will consider Statewide Proposition 50 and Local Measure G (Truckee area). Voters may vote and return their ballots immediately. 

Voters can return their ballots via mail by using any of the official ballot drop boxes located throughout the counties (drop boxes are open), or in person to any open vote center starting Oct. 25 in Placer County. Nevada County in person voting begins Oct. 6 at the Nevada County Government Center, 950 Maidu Ave. in Nevada City.

All registered voters will receive both a local and state voter information guide.

Register to vote at registertovote.ca.gov.

Voters who do not receive their voting materials by Oct. 10 are encouraged to contact the Elections Office.
