TRUCKEE
Visit Truckee-Tahoe (VTT), Truckee’s official tourism authority, announced the addition of Tony Owings to the board of directors.
Owings brings more than 30 years of experience as a personal financial planner, guiding individuals and small businesses through every stage of their financial journeys. A longtime advocate for civic engagement, Owings has served on 10 community and professional boards throughout his career. His leadership, strategic insight, and dedication to service make him a valuable addition to the Visit Truckee-Tahoe board at a time when Truckee’s tourism economy continues to evolve.
Originally from Northern California, Owings grew up skiing the slopes of Mt. Lassen and developed a deep appreciation for mountain living. That passion ultimately led his family to purchase a ski-in/ski-out condo in the Tahoe Donner Ski Bowl Condos with the intention of offering it as a short-term rental — helping to offset the costs of second homeownership while sharing the experience with visiting families.
Now serving on the Visit Truckee-Tahoe board, he looks forward to representing the voice of short-term rental owners and contributing to thoughtful conversations about the region’s future. He is especially passionate about preserving the unique character of the Tahoe Truckee area while supporting a vibrant, sustainable community for generations to come.
