On Saturday, Sept. 27, Nevada State Parks invites everyone to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the nation’s largest event dedicated to public lands. To honor the occasion, Nevada State Parks is waiving fees for entry, camping, and boating at all state parks, giving visitors opportunity to explore and connect with Nevada’s treasured landscapes.

National Public Lands Day brings together thousands of volunteers, park staff, and visitors across the country in celebration of shared public lands. Through activities such as cleanups, restoration, and educational programs, the day promotes stewardship and appreciation for the outdoors while reminding us of the importance of protecting these spaces for generations to come.

This year, Nevada State Parks will host a variety of programs and activities for visitors of all ages including in Sand Harbor. Kick off spooky season with the first night of Spooky Harbor on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m., featuring a lakeside showing of Hocus Pocus. Park entry fees apply, no reservation needed if arriving in the evening.
