The progressive genius of Indian basketry, the unstoppable growth of manifest destiny, 18,000 stainless steel pins, and 205,000 fortune cookies all have one thing in common: They all fill in the collage that makes up Lake Tahoe’s fascinating history. The Nevada Museum of Art exhibit, Tahoe: A Visual History, is painstakingly compiled from the work of 175 artists over a period of 200 years. Unparalled, the exhibit brings one of the West’s most captivating tales to life in color. We’ve boiled history down a bit here, and found a few of our favorite gems.
