Too Pooped to Party

A mixology of high-altitude gadfly gossip for oxygen-starved brain cells

Good reviews of the recent Wanderlust Festival are circulating about: lots of wandering, lots of lusting. And good news in the business community: Truckee's best kept secret, Trio wine bar, has re-opened with super affordable wines by the glass and an expanded menu. While enjoying the grape, swing over to Corkscrews, Tahoe City's newest wine bar.

Have you noticed, dear readers, the rather worn-out state – as of late – of the local population? Bags under half-opened eyes, fly-away hair, wrinkled clothes, droopy shoulders, and an overall disheveled demeanor are just some of the symptoms plaguing the mountain folk. What can it be? As your local sleuth, I was on a mission to discover the cause of the swine flu-like outbreak.

Well it didn’t take long as I ran across a rather haggard local who, in a hoarse whisper, detailed the culprit: her demanding schedule! She wishes to remain anonymous should her friends and family consider an intervention:

Monday – Totally Affordable Music at Sand Harbor
Tuesday – Free Blues at The Village at Squaw Valley
Wednesday – Free Concert at Truckee Regional Park
Thursday – Free Music on the Beach, Kings Beach
Friday – Free Sands Pool Party, Reno
Saturday – Free Outdoor Movie Night at Northstar
Sunday – Free Concert on Commons Beach, Tahoe City, then repeat schedule.

From the looks of this, in a word, the locals are just too pooped to party. A big thanks to all the local organizations, associations, artists, arts groups, communities, resorts and sponsors for providing so much fun for everyone this summer.

Speaking of being too pooped to party, if you’re feeling a bit sluggish, give Spiral Healing Colon Hydrotherapy a call.  Refresh and detox. You’ll be all ready to go after a good flushing out!
