The Perfect Day!

I believe very strongly that we can create the environment we can thrive in. This means we can create “The Perfect Day!” The only catch is.... we need to actually think about what that would look like for each of us. This takes time, courage and honesty.

What do our days look like right now? Do you love your job? Is everything working well at home? How well are you communicating with your partners, your co-workers, or your kids?

Even more revealing: How are you “talking” to yourself? When we take the time, and we are really honest with ourselves, we can get to the things that are not working well in our work or our home life. Then and only then do we have the power to make a change!

Once we “name” what is working and what is NOT working, we can make a list of what it is we really need to make things work better. For example:
1. I need more time for myself.
2. I need to hike every day for my physical and emotional wellbeing.
3. I need to spend more time around friends who energize me and support me, and less time around people who are negative.

Now it is YOUR turn!! Make your list of what it is you need today. This will start you on the journey of creating ‘The Perfect Day.’

Do you have anxiety? I see many clients who suffer from physical symptoms as a result of living in worry, fear and anxiety. Remember that all these feelings are usually not helpful unless you are in a dangerous situation right now. Worry is usually an emotion that takes us into the future. If it helps you solve a problem, great, but if the worry and anxiety are merely taking you out of your present moment, which is all we have, then try to tell yourself “I am safe and calm in this moment." We have much more power than we use to create calm within ourselves.

Think and feel right now what is going on in this moment. Do you have things in your life that you are thankful for?

Think about all that is working. Feel the calm that can enter your body when you think positive thoughts and what is good about your life.

Now, from this place of calm, we can work on the things that are not working. I invite you to make a list of what is working and what is not working in your life. If you feel you have the tools to create the life you want each day, do it now! If you need help and support, seek out people who will help and support you on your journey.

One more tip: always create “reserve” time and energy into your days. We all have events and challenges that enter into our days and are out of our control. Hopefully we can minimize these but building “reserves” into our schedules can really help when they inevitably come along. In other words, don’t book yourselves so much that you don’t have a little down time. Take mini-vacations every day! A tea break, call-a-friend break, or a just-sit-and-do-nothing break!

You are worth it!
