The Sun enters Leo on July 22. This sign of the zodiac is the Sun’s home, and its journey through this constellation enlivens all things solar. The long, hot days of summer are upon us now. Leo is a fixed fire sign that expresses as spiritual love. It is the essence of life itself.
The intense passionate nature of Leo reminds us of the underlying reality of the joy of life. Even though we live in difficult times and the multiplicity of challenges that we face seems overwhelming, there is a sense deep within our being of this joy.
The opportunity to live life and experience existence is fulfilling. We should be aware that our lives have significance and purpose that unfolds through time and puts the daily challenges into proper perspective.
The essence of being, which is that all life is based in the cosmic manifestation of joy and happiness, is captured by the Sun in Leo. We experience this state of joy by turning our attention within to the heart. The Sun in Leo rules the heart. This is where the higher self is located and whose nature is bliss, intense joy.
As we align our attention with the heart and open up to what it is trying to give us, we discover an infinite source of joy and happiness. This experience is best achieved through meditation and contemplation. We will find that the more we make this connection, the more it permeates our whole being. We then naturally give expression to these impulses in our actions.
It manifests as the cosmic principle of creative love. This is the expression of our true nature. In this way, we make a positive contribution to our environment and enliven this energy in others. It is fulfilling and contagious.
When we base our happiness on how much money we have or the quality of our material possessions, then we have built our house on sand. These are ephemeral things that come and go. To the degree that we define ourselves and are overly attached to the outer trappings of life, we set ourselves up for disappointment and unhappiness. We must look beyond to the deeper and more profound values of spirit.
We can cultivate and enliven Leo’s essence by following our bliss. What activities bring you the greatest joy and happiness? Consciously organize your time to include these activities on a regular basis. You will find that this results in a profound, qualitative shifting of your life. Enjoy!

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): You feel frustration at being blocked at moving ahead with your life. The focus now is on career and achieving the next step to success. There are financial constraints that can impede your plans and the expression of a new wave of creativity. If you are practical and plan well, you will overcome the obstacles you are facing.
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 23): This is a good month to give expression to your people skills. Group activities and socializing should be on your agenda. It is even a good time to socialize with co-
workers. It can pay off for you professionally and financially. It is a good month for you.
Scorpio (Oct. 24 – Nov. 21): Now is a good time to focus on your career. There is an energy of new beginnings that you should take advantage of. You can attain your goals now. There is potential conflict in getting paid what you deserve. Try to make sure that you don’t get short-changed.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): There is a strong tendency for you to be blindsided by negative situations that you did not see coming. Your innate optimism can be your undoing, especially with money and investments. You could realize financial losses if you don’t change your view of the future. With realistic, long-term planning you can avoid this negative scenario and be OK.
