Lorin Ashton, also known as Bassnectar, will come to Tahoe again this year to bring heavy dubstep break beats, a serious sound system, and a high-energy party that will leave you wanting more. For anyone who is unfamiliar with this Northern California-based DJ, his sound is precisely what the name implies. Listeners can literally feel the bass pouring from the speakers like a unique nectar of sound. Ashton’s style is best described by the DJ himself, who calls the end product “‘omnitempo maximalism,’ which basically means no rules, no limitations, and no hesitation in fusing the familiar with the strange.” Since the inception of Bassnectar, Ashton has shared a social message of peace and unity through his music and at live shows.

Ashton has been coming to visit Tahoe with his family since childhood. “[I am] bonkers hyped to return to Tahoe, one of my favorite places in the world. We are bringing an extra-intense custom McCauley sound system.” The show will be at MontBleu Casino in South Lake Tahoe on March 13; doors will open at 7 p.m. For ticket information call the MontBleu ticket office at (775) 588-3515 or find them at www.ticketmaster.com. Bassnectar Labs is sharing a special, free download for Moonshine readers. Visit http://www.bassnectar.net/2010/01/2010-idj-mixtape/ for a Bassnectar mix tape.
