Finally!!! Our prayers have been answered, with Bill’s Rotisserie. There’s a reason that slow-cooked meat makes the mouth water and the stomach grumble… Because it’s damn tasty! I can tell you that the burritos are the bomb, at a killer price ($5.75), and the Tri-Tip Burrito was everything I hoped it would be — big, delicious, and affordable. I tasted the pork burrito and was equally impressed. My officemates are still raving about the Mayan chicken. You can order in, order to go, or check out the super quick drive-thru. For an affordable meal that won’t leave you hungry, stop in and check out Bill’s Rotisserie, open seven days, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., 11355 Deerfield Drive, Truckee, (530) 582-5652.

In Tahoe City at lunchtime? Do yourself a favor and stop by Evergreen Restaurant in the Cobblestone Center. Not what I would like to call a “first date” sandwich, the Smoked Pulled Pork sandwich ($11.50) is toe curling-ly delicious from the first messy bite to the last. Topped with pickles and coleslaw, the pork is perfectly tangy and comes with fries, fruit, or salad. I’m already thinking about my next lunch date. Open for lunch seven days, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., dinner Wednesday to Sunday, 5 to 9 p.m., Evergreen Restaurant, 475 North Lake Boulevard, (530) 583-1401, evergreentahoe.com.

What time is it? It doesn’t matter! The All-Day Addiction ($8.95) works any time, day or night! Stop in to JAX at the Tracks next time you missed breakfast and have a hankering for something delicious — you won’t be disappointed. Slices of ham draped over homemade hash browns, mixed greens with a balsamic reduction, two eggs any style, topped with sliced avocado, this dish is sure to please any palate. This is a mountain of deliciousness that may have you finding yourself with a need to drop everything to stop by and feed the addiction. Open seven days from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.,  JAX at the Tracks, 10144 West River Street, Truckee, (530) 550-7450, jaxtruckee.com.

If your belly is aching and feeling a little neglected, there isn’t a better sandwich to fill it with than the Cuban sando ($8) from Full Belly Deli. It’s jam packed with roasted pork loin, black forest ham, pickles, Dijon mustard, and Swiss cheese, and one could say it’s best enjoyed on blue cheese bread. The Cuban falls under the “Junkyard” section of Full Belly’s menu meaning it is a “big, sloppy, messy” one. In my opinion, when talking about the Cuban, or any sandwich at the deli, big, sloppy, and messy might as well mean crave-worthy, delicious, and satisfying. Full Belly Deli is open Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., 10825 Pioneer Trail Road, Suite 103, Truckee, (530) 550-9516, fullbellydelitruckee.com.
