The Trading Post Center, behind the Sawtooth Ridge Café in Tahoe City, has a new tenant — Inside Out Fitness. The gym, formerly located on West Lake Boulevard, offers 2,000 square feet of free weights, weight lifting machines, stationary bikes, Stairmasters, and aerobic equipment, as well as personal training and 24-hour access.
“We’re very happy with our new location,” says Inside Out Owner Al Bitar. “We offer all the same equipment and workout space as before within serene and beautiful surroundings. We’re now right in town near shopping and the sidewalks, yet our location is also right next to greenbelt, hiking trails, and lots of sunshine.” Bitar has owned and operated the business since 1996. He first began power-lifting in 1984 and competed successfully in regional events for years. Bitar is regarded as one of the area’s most skilled personal trainers and emphasizes the basics of weightlifting, especially free weights, as a tool to improve symmetry and condition bodies for Tahoe’s athletic lifestyle.
“The gym is a tool to improve whatever you do in your life, hence the name Inside Out,” says Bitar. “Both in-house trainer Sheri Schmidt and I are dedicated to our clientele. Our facilities are not very fancy, but instead a throwback to a traditional weightlifting club. There are no pressures, no attitudes, only friendship, a healthy environment, and a lot of iron.”
Inside Out Fitness is located at 905 North Lake Boulevard, Suite 101, in downtown Tahoe City. Open seven days a week, the gym offers daily, weekly, monthly, and 24-hour memberships. Visit Inside Out for a free trial workout. Info: (530) 581-5541
