Relay for Life at Truckee High
July 17 and 18
Relay for Life began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon from Tacoma, Wash., ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since then, the event has grown into the world’s largest movement to end cancer. Local teams will camp out at Truckee High School and take turns walking or running around the track for a full 24 hours. Honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight cancer in your community by participating in Relay for Life.
