Rose Levinson and Chris Cooke spent a summer in Europe and decided to pursue their dream of opening a wine and food shop in Truckee/North Lake Tahoe. The result is Avec Wine + Food, set to open this summer in Truckee. Avec will offer gourmet specialty foods and a deli, select artisan cheeses and chocolates, savory condiments, and spices. In addition to lunch and dinner items in the deli, light breakfast fare including pastries, coffee, and a wide range of teas will be available. Sunset Dining at High Camp

Squaw Valley USA announces the beginning of Sunset Dining Packages for the 2010 Summer Season. In conjunction with the start of summer night operations, sunset dining will run every Friday and Saturday night through Saturday, Aug. 21. Sunset Dinner Package tickets are $39 if purchased before 5 p.m. and $49 after 5 p.m. The ticket package includes the Cable Car ride and a three-course dinner at the Poolside Café.
