Burner Fashion Show

Sunday Aug. 8, Junkee Clothing Exchange, Reno

Seeking some killer threads for Burning Man? Look no further than the third annual Burner Fashion Show, scheduled for Sunday Aug. 8 and produced by Reno's Junkee Clothing Exchange. This locally-minded recycled clothing business puts on this fashion show to give back to the local burner community for all their great support! Junkee’s entire parking lot on South Virginia Street is converted into a hustling catwalk, with a 30-foot long stage that sits four feet in the air. (The backdrop will be a special theme this year; keep an eye out for the surprise!) Four businesses provide the rockin’ and inspirin’ clothes: the Melting Pot World Emporium (the only Burner ticket outlet in Reno), Prism Magic Clothing (specializing in tie-dye and plus size), Naughty and Nice (sexy wear and a fan favorite, of course), and Junkee (affordable playa wear). All these businesses are Burner-owned and -operated! Opening the festivities will be Whitney Myer Band, headed by the popular Reno singer and songwriter, influenced by James Brown and Gladys Knight. Refreshments and entertainment included along with a few special vendors.

Info: Sunday Aug. 8, at 5 p.m., Junkee Clothing Exchange, 960 S. Virginia Street, Reno, (775) 322-5865, junkeeclothingexchange.com
