More than 75 cute, cuddly bears were recently given to the Truckee Police Department for distribution to at-risk children in the Truckee community.
Sixty of the stuffed bears were handmade and delivered to the Truckee Donner Senior Apartments by the “Crafters,” longtime Truckee residents Bev Chappell and Lynn Emley.
The Truckee Police Department sends a big thanks to the all the seniors who helped in making the Community Cuddles bear project a success. Special thanks also go out to Chappell and Emley, who sadly have now moved to Reno, and to officer Jeff Safford of the Truckee Police Department who got the bear project going.
