Talbot and Frohlich Honored
Though released in late 2008, “Around Tahoe: Lake Tahoe’s Ultimate Skiing and Snowboarding Video/Audio Tour Guide,” just got some fine recognition. The Far West Ski Association gave the guide’s creators, Darin Talbot and Robert Frohlich, the 2010 Warren Miller Award at their annual meeting on June 12. The award is given for outstanding service to skiing by cinematographers, photographers, or radio or television broadcasters. The CD/DVD set includes information on 16 mountain resorts and focuses primarily on alpine skiing. Informative and at times irreverent, the guide provides vignettes, historical tales, and insider tips to visiting Lake Tahoe in winter. Made up of 57 tracks, highlights include original songs written and sung by Talbot and friend Eric T. Brandt. Guest narrators include Glen Plake, Tom Burt, and Dr. Robb Gaffney.
